Sean Dixon is a versatile saxophonist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Southern California, with proficiency in clarinet, bass clarinet, flute, and snare drum. A passionate performer and educator, Dixon has performed on stages worldwide, including the Crypto.com Arena, where he played the Star-Spangled Banner to an audience of 18,000. He has also performed at multiple UCLA Anderson School of Management graduation ceremonies and in the iconic Rose Bowl.
His session work includes performing as a tenor saxophone soloist with the Blue Note Orchestra and contributing to a range of pop music covers. Dixon is also a regular performer with esteemed ensembles such as the Azusa Pacific University Jazz Ensemble, the Blue Note Orchestra, and the Jimmy McConnell Big Band. He currently serves on the worship team at Christ St. John Baptist Church in Compton, CA.
Dixon completed a Bachelor of Arts in Commercial Music: Composition and Arranging, alongside an Honors Humanities Minor at Azusa Pacific University and plans to return for his Masters in Instrumental Conducting.
Dixon began composing in 2022 under the mentorship of film orchestrator Mike Watts. Since then, he has written for a variety of ensembles, including string quartets, woodwind quintets, choirs, pop groups, jazz bands, and symphony orchestras.
As a composer and producer, Dixon is proficient in recording and mixing his own projects. In 2023, he composed a choral work based on a 13th-century poem, recording and mixing it with a 10-voice choir to achieve a polished, live-performance sound. His collaborative spirit extends beyond classroom projects, as evidenced by his 2022 composition of a woodwind quintet, for which he arranged a live recording session with his peers. In 2024, Dixon produced an EP with the record label The Best Friends Label. Dixon scored an animated short film named The Jewel Sisters that premiered in May of 2025 at Warner Brother Studios. He is skilled in Pro Tools and Logic Pro X, utilizing these tools to bring his creative visions to life both compositionally and through audio engineering.
Currently, Dixon interning with the Tutti Music Partners Team as an assistant orchestrator, working on soon-to-be released movie and video game soundtracks.
